Trevi Technology
Total reliability and quality for a great shower, every time. That’s what Trevi technology gives you.
Solid Brass Body
All Trevi valves have a solid-cast brass body. Why brass? Because it’s durable and reliable. This, in addition to precision-engineered parts such as the casings for the ceramic disc cartridges, thermostat and non-return valves, means a Trevi shower never fails to deliver. Our commitment to quality is unrivalled.
Thermostatic Cartridge
Our thermostatic wax capsule cartridge is manufactured to the highest standards, with a solid brass outer and a shuttle that ensures precision temperature control. The shuttle regulates the mixture of hot and cold water in the mixing chamber of the valve. If either the hot or cold water supply fails, the shuttle closes the relevant port within 1.5 seconds, thereby preventing the risk of scalding. Pivoted on a unique, patented rubber membrane which allows it to move freely, even when limescale has hardened around the cartridge, the result is a market leading, maintenance-free thermostatic shower valve, making Trevi shower valves true “fit and forget” products.
Ceramic Disc
The ceramic discs used in Trevi valves are the most efficient and reliable way of ensuring a consistent and precise water flow. What’s more, all our products are drip-free and resistant to the build up of limescale which affects performance. The smooth, easy to turn operation of ceramic disc cartridges adds to the quality feel that is synonymous with Trevi.
Non Return Valves
Non return valves (NRVs) conventionally prevent water crossing over from the cold to hot water supply, which can cause the hot water tank to flood. NRVs also prevent water from being drawn up from the handset and back into the mains supply which leads to contamination. Our TT collection NRVs are reversible, so if the hot and cold supply pipes have been plumbed-in the wrong way, you simply reverse the NRVs. That means no need to re-plumb, therefore saving both time and money.
Twin Sealing System
Sealing System One - This is a conventional water-proof foam type seal which is incorporated into the face plate sealing gasket. When the face plate is screwed on to the valve the seal is compressed and forms a flexible seal over uneven surfacesSealing System Two - This seal is a flexible rubber gasket, incorporating fins designed to fit into the tilting trim surrounding the valve in the wall. The purpose of this gasket is to provide an additional seal against water penetration
Thermostatic Mixer ShowersTo maintain a constant temperature without having to continuously adjust the hot and cold-water inlets, thermostatic shower valves are the only option. All Trevi thermostatic mixer showers* utilise a temperature sensitive wax cartridge that maintains the water temperature to within +/- 1 degree and ensures that the temperature and pressure is automatically controlled, preventing cold water shock or hot water scalding. *Excludes Tradition ExposedManual Mixer ShowersSingle lever control with hot and cold inlet and mixed water outlet. Manual mixer showers do not compensate for variations in water temperature and pressure.Venturi Mixer ShowerHigh pressure mains cold water is used to “pull through” tank pressure water through the special venturi valve inside the shower control, so the resulting mixed water comes out at a muczh greater rate than could be achieved using an electric shower or ordinary shower mixer valve.Gives excellent showering performance in conditions that are often deemed unsuitable for conventional thermostatic showers e.g. guest rooms, en-suites, attic bathrooms. Ideal alternative for electric shower.Choosing your showerThe good news is that anyone with a hot and cold water supply can have a Trevi shower.Low PressureLow-pressure gravity fed systemsThis is the most common type of heating system. To create the shower pressure, water flows directly from a cold-water tank (cistern) in your loft to a hot water tank (cylinder) in your airing cupboard. The greater the distance from the bottom of the tank to the top of the showerhead, the better your shower will perform.High pressureCombination boiler/modulating boilerA combi-boiler heats your water up as soon as you turn the shower or hot tap on. It’s often located in the kitchen and supplies water at high pressure. Usually this system has a water pressure of between 1 bar (equivalent to 10 metres between the bottom of a cold water tank to the top of the showerhead) and 5 bar. Unvented mains pressureThis system stores hot water under pressure in a large cylinder, which is usually found in an airing cupboard or garage. You can identify it by the expansion vessel on top of the cylinder and the absence of a cold-water tank. Sometimes, in a refurbished property, an unused cold-water tank will be left in place. Pumped gravity fed systemEssentially a gravity-fed system, but with the addition of a booster pump, water is delivered to your shower at high pressure for better performance. The water pressure will depend on the pump, but in most cases this will be 1-3 bar. You may need to increase the capacity of your hot and cold-water tanks.
